A Race for Heaven

In 2013, on a regular daily assignment for KMPH FOX26, I met a cross-country running, blind, 4th grade student named Heaven. After putting together the short news story, Nick King—the sports reporter—and I decided to put together a long-form documentary that centered on the training she did for a competitive run in Sacramento, CA while highlighting her energetic spirit and supportive home life.

Nominated for a NorCal NATAS Emmy in the Documentary category in 2014.
